Rural Adventures in Chianti

For the weekend of 24 and 25 September 2016 for example it is planning “Rural Adventure”, a hike in the historic Chianti lands to get to know the work of those breeders and growers and custodians of ancient breeds and varieties of fruit and vegetables belonging to “Rural “, using off-road vehicles for longer trips and stopping in a bivouac for the night, which will be equipped with tents.
A territory, the Chianti, the characteristics of the climate and soil made him famous as a suitable area for the production of high quality wines, already known from the eighteenth century. The agricultural landscape of Chianti is characterized by rows of vines alternate with olive groves and it is in these pleasant areas that will develop the course of the weekend accompanied by an expert guide through nature, history, knowledge and flavors of the past, now kept by passionate producers. ToscanagalloIl meeting is scheduled for Saturday at 10.30 in front of the Info Point in Gaiole in Chianti, the famous market place already in the middle of the thirteenth century, for a presentation briefing of “Rural” project. At 11 departure for the excursion that will lead to the fortified medieval village of Vertine: Here we will stop for lunch (km. 6.5) and continue through vineyards and olive trees with a 4×4 Defender coming to the castle of Meleto for a visit.
